Ages: 6 - 12 years old

Hours & Days: “Horse Camp”: M-F, 9:00am - 2:00pm. “Pony Camp”: W-F, 9:00am - 12:00pm.

Summer Horse Camps!

This year we are offering two camp options in order to provide more comprehensive and age appropriate instruction. We will offer a full week (“Horse camp”) option for kids 9-12 years old and a half week (“Pony camp”) option for kids 6-8 years old. “Pony camp” is an introduction to horses for younger kids. They will learn about how to handle horses and how to prepare the horse for riding. They will also learn the basics of basic horsemanship to begin building a horse/human partnership for the mutual respect and enjoyment of the rider AND the horse. The objective of “Horse camp” is to learn and practice the above skills as well as the basic skills of riding. Kids in horse camp will learn and practice the “four aids,” and good leg, hand, & seat position as they learn and practice walk, trot, halt, reverse. We are excited and proud about the addition of the concept horsemanship and groundwork into our summer camps. We think it’s important to develop good stewards of the sport instead of merely teaching the mechanics of riding. We think riders should understand the WHYs behind what we do.

Learn from expert teachers through private lessons and group classes in a supportive environment that encourages fun. Students are guided to practice effectively and even parents are advised on how to help set up an ideal practice environment for their child at home. No audition required! Students should be beginners or should have been taking private lessons for less than a year. Since 1942 we’ve been taking musical excellence to new heights, one student at a time.
